Lighting & Rendering 2 - HDR Lighting

Unwrapping the image in HDR proved quite tempermental when cloning the distortion. I followed the tutorial to fruition and was very pleased with the results. It is a great way to place an object into the real world as it were. I would love to use this process in projects to come.

Lighting & Rendering 2 - MIA Material X Shader

This tutorial is quite similar to the blinn shader process but the MIA Material X Shader has much more diversity in terms of settings and control. This allows for the end result to be more realistic in my opinion. I think I could use this process to strengthen some of the assets I will deploy in my Adaptation Part B Project.

Lighting & Rendering 2 - Mental Ray Portal Lights

This tutorial pretty much was a continuation of the previous one, considering the physical sun and sky tutorial. But this time experimenting with an indoor scene. But when dealing with interior space 'Portal Lights' are deemed necessarly when a light shines into a room. I knew the render times were going to be high due to the processes the scene would undertake. The overall image is quite realistic and refined.

Lighting & Rendering 2 - Physical Sun & Sky

I can remember doing this tutorial the first time I did second year here at UCA, It was quite enjoyable and Its nice to see the change in shadow depth before your eyes on the screen.

Lighting & Rendering 2 - Mental Ray Final Gather

Following through the Mental Ray Final Gather tutorial I failed to snapshot most of my progress so I had to restart, I found it easier the second time round, straightforward tutorial even if some of the renders took a bit long.

Lighting & Rendering 2 - Samples & Quality Control

I carried out the tutorial quickly and took snapshots of my efforts as I went. You can see the experimentation between each to refine what I desired as a final product. I then got down to two final renders that I thought were defined enough.
