Fantastic Voyage - Influence Map

My influence is derived heavily from a gaming 'techno' HUD that will annotate all key actions that would be taking place in my animation, the actual style and forms of my characters would be quite simplistic but rich with design and will want to grasp the viewers attention on it. The way I am hoping to present is like a blueprint mold that will animate the entire life cycle of the Plasmodial.

From Script to Screen : Influence Maps

Some of the influence maps I have created to further my ideas to development toward a scripting idea for my project. I have a clear idea of what I wish to accomplish with the shopkeeper clerk being portrayed as a Clown. I also considered that there could be numerous store colleagues sporting the same dress code. They could be either happy or sad clowns and at the same time they don't have to be male, so perhaps create designs for both genders. The Joke Shop itself is a world and I thought it would be vast and intricate and even infinite space could be established, I thought of infinite warehouse spaces and maybe a pan up could be made to show the enormity and endless wonder. Finally the camera, the prop can be an item brought into the store perhaps for a customer service inquiry for a fault or like a class photo in front of a camera.

Post OGR 2 Influence Map and revised concept

Following the feedback I gathered from my last OGR I have re-scripted my character biography, concept and hero prop. It was true that the previous idea was derived to create a depiction from the origins of the volcanic princess and not her actual lair. So re evaluating once more is crucial so that I go into Maya with a stronger concept.

I have decided to follow Phil's advice and incorporate a Playpen environment with an Obsidian texture, and contained within this space would be the toys of the Princess, she would this time be depicted as a spoilt little brat that would have temper tantrums and destroy her toys. Unbeknown to her that her destruction actually occurs on the surface world, almost like a voodoo effect. I hope to have a strong concept before this weeks end and jump into Maya and begin scripting the scene.

Volcanic Princess Environment Influence Maps Revised

I have begun to notice that my thumbnails detailing the environment of the secret lair of the Volcanic Princess are beginning to lack incentive and becoming more and more generic in presentation. After recieving my feedback after the initial OGR of this project I decided to revise the space of the lair and to find a new reference of information to fund my ideas from. After looking at Hepheastus and Pele I decided to continue with these Greek columns and detailed alcoves to base my designs from. And as for the Volcanic aspects of the design I looked at conceptual artwork and some game design. This is because the space I am looking to achieve is going to be something impossible in real-life standards, so to refer to media where in a sense we are the creators. My great fear of this project is replicating Lava correctly for my audience but after a brief chat with Simon and Jordan I believe I am more confident in proceeding ahead but to finialize a set perspective and composition I must implore the use of pipetting almost key design elements into my own work.

Princess Influence Map

The second of my influence maps detailing the Princess to my secret lair, at this time I am still considering altering my character bio to create the overall portrayal of this space. I haven't decided if she is a cute and innocent girl and this is depicted in the environment or if she is a dark and sinister individual. My influence map reflects this statement, I used a range of keywords to explore accessories that may be props in this space and her actual nature. Perhaps she can manipulate her environment? I must decide soon.

Volcanic Influence Map

My secret lair is full of diverse potential and I will be looking to dissect as much as possible from source material using key words. Trying to not be too generic in my working because when we think of Volcanic settings our minds seem to dive into caves, lava and ash environments when really for this project it demands further and deeper thought. So here is the Influence Map for Volcanic setting of my project, I have looked at a range of spaces from dark to light and cool to blazing hot. I should be looking further into perspective in the influence maps following this.

Influence map - Time Machine Ideas

Second influence map regarding my cinematic spaces project. I brainstormed possible viewpoints and ideas to venture from, a much vaster collaboration than the previous map

Influence map - MarcSimonetti

Whilst browsing through tumblr last night I came across a digital artist I have grown quite fond of. I am a fan of some of his illustrations for the 'Games Of Thrones' series, also his style is engaging and I wish to be influenced by his creative style. He is a true professional artist with a career spanning a decade but I aim to one day complete artwork to this standard.
