Adaptation A - Infographic Designs

I went over the designs in Illustrator to correct any of the odd angles and shapes left from photoshop. These designs are simplistic and express a stock value to them. The animation to music keying stage will begin shortly as I was worried about the consistency of the line designs.

Good Omens - The Marvel Way

From the guide it shows you how the cubes and cylinders become one to form the complete form of the character. Subdividing these cubes and cylinders also indicate where certain additions will be added once more detail has been put onto the character. Using straight lines also outlines the perspective and direction the characters body is facing.

A quick orthographic of Mr Fantastic also gives depth to the design and you can definitely tell from the shapes what parts of the body stick outwards and where the figure cuts in. The lines get darker to show where the figure cuts in on certain parts of the body.

The poses are quite dynamic and they experiment with the flexibility to the characters they are used upon. The drawing starts from the most simplest designs with thin shallow lines and then build up into structures and then the final design.

Adaptation & Professional Practice Part B - Initial Designs

Aziraphale Designs

Crowley Designs

Still experimenting with the costume layouts for Aziraphale and Crowley here and I think the best idea was to use the trench coat ideas from number 3 of each initial ideas. Then experiment with some designs that could be inbedded into the costume? adding symbolism into their designs.

Adaptation & Professional Practice Part A - Infographic Designs

This is a work in progress, I have constructed some simple designs in Adobe Photoshop. On these designs I have saved them on separate images so they can be manipulated in After Effects soon.

Adaptation & Professional Practice Part A - infographic style ideas

I have looked into a few different animations and info graphics I feel could influence my own workings and perhaps inspire a new style for me. Taken from a scene in Wall-e, this is the culture aboard the axiom. With the screens heavily influencing the lives of the passengers, it instructs them on the day. The enthusiastic voice is ironic I think because everyone aboard the vessel is morbidly obese, the Axiom's screens detail a 'Healthy' style with big bold fonts and various bright colors to catch peoples attentions. Also I noticed a selection of frames where the computer tells passengers to change colors by literally scrolling from a red to a blue shader. Simple animation, but serves a purpose I think.

Another idea was to re-arrange existing information on screen by adapting them into other forms. I was inspired by the Monsters Inc opening sequence of animation. If I was to replicate this kind of animation into my own working I would probably use a folding technique or like a pop-out. Linking to the information gained by one of my previous posts, the information could fork out from one object with the re-arrangement of sentences and imagery on screen.

Fantastic Voyage - Spore Modelling

Modelling the spore was harder than I first realized because of the intersecting points of the nets, I finally remolded using the net and the chamfer effect and triangulate the shape allowing for hexagons to be formed. I then extruded the difference and the inner shape to produce this spore effect. It relates to my concept art and will be okay for the moment as it is taken into pre-vis.

Fantastic Voyage - HUD Trapcode effect

Today I spent a very long time following numerous tutorials on how to achieve a trapcode/particular effect that would engage my audience into my HUD designs. I had looked into an effect called 'trapcode planet' and I looked to recreate this with my own stylisation. The outcome of the day is 6 seconds of footage that has this small animation keyed to a number of different positions, the effect reminds me of the Iron Man HUDS I have looked at in the past. I want to create different compositions and flex designs to annotate actions in my animation, I am thinking of going from green - amber - red to symbolise state changes in the life cycle and the colours to only be displayed on the HUD.
And here is my own version for trailed for my animation. Its purpose could be served as a HUD brain or I could do trapcodes integrating each stage.

Looking at this again I think the animation is a little too quick so I may smoothen over the keyframes and lengthen the video

Hero Prop Designs

These are the designs I have created for the Hero prop, ideas taken from my hero influence map and adapted, experimented in colour and simple tones
